Description Fits: 196-86 CJ-5 & 7 A significant issue common to CJ’s frame rust at the leaf spring shackle mount area. There a rubber body mount located above the rear frame section that retains moisture and allows it to slowly seep into the frame rail. Sand mud also get trapped inside the hollow frame rails, resulting in total rust-through. These rusted-out create an extremely unsafe condition and often lead to state safety inspection failures. You will to buy new shackle mount bushings for best results. This Safe-T-CapTM saves time and money with this smart fix rotted frames. Installation is very similar to our ART-42.
