At last, a universal remote that works with digital converter boxes. Even better than the lost original Magnavox converter box remote, as this one allows direct channel entry via the number keypad, of which the original did not have numbered buttons, but only channel up( ) and down(-). Used direct code entry, and there was only a single code for Magnavox converter boxes, so no need to do any code search, or try random direct entry codes to get the right one, since there was only one code, at least for Magnavox converter boxes. Operates up to 4 devices, including VCR, TV, Digital Converter Box/Satellite/Cable box, and DVD/Auxilliary, though programming the DVD/Aux component button, was a bit confusing, and different than programming the other component buttons, which were a snap. Even Radio Shack claimed they did not sell a universal remote for Converter boxes. Very small and lightweight, and takes the smaller “AAA”-size batteries. Also has Mute, Last Channel, and Source buttons. Only $6.00 and shipping is free, if you have it shipped to a Walmart store, from their online website store, to later do the store pickup. TV volume button works while controlling the converter box, like an automatic macro, so you don’t have to shuttle between the DTC (Digital Tv Converter) component button, and the TV component button, every time you want to adjust the TV volume, while you already flipping thru channels in the DTC button mode. Automatic TV volume macro comes pre-programmed, so there’s no need to setup or follow complicated macro instructions. Highly recommend.
