The media could not be loaded.I purchased this Suzco kit after a ridiculous amount of research. I really like this system because of the Dreamcolor lights. The Dreamcolor lights allow multiple colors on the strip at the same time, allowing advanced effects. The kit comes with a Remote as well as a battery harness that includes a manual kill switch to avoid battery drain. It comes with 2 extensions and you can order more extensions as well as Y harnesses. Packaging is great, instructions are so so, though they are really not necessary. It also comes with the instructions to download the Bluetooth app for further effects.First thing first. The harness is suppose to connect straight to the battery and has a kill switch in line with the negative connection and a fuse in line with the positive. I could not find any place to run this kill switch due to it being in line that would have been convenient. Being very OCD, I rewired the positive and negative to a Harley acc Y harness to connect it to the ignition switch. This allowed me to remove the kill switch as seen in the first picture. I fully expect this to void any warranty on the lights as this is not the proper way to connect the lights and I do not recommend you connect it, in a way that the manufacturer does not recommend. I had to lengthen the harness because the acc harness is under the fairing and installed the unit under my seat. Suzco provided extra power wire, which I used. You can see the connection under the fairing and under the seat in other picture’s. Because of this connection method I cannot turn the lights on without the bike acc on, but that does not bother me.Once I knew where the box was installed, I decided on the light locations. I cleaned all location areas with paper towels and alcohol. I made sure they were free of all dirt. According to one of the questions on the lights store page, the lights can handle heat under normal conditions. So, I installed two under the wind deflectors towards the back of the motor facing the rear head. two under the tank facing the top of the motor. two on the bottom frame rails facing the pavement and two on the bottom of the support rails for the hard bags facing the exhaust. I had more than enough cable length to run these locations. I am looking to install more in the future, possibly speaker boxes and fairing. After running and securing all the wires, I made all the connections to the splitter attached to the Bluetooth box. From there I attached the tank and cleaned up all this new wiring under my seat. The picture shows what I did, and remember I am no professional. I then tested the box and all lights with the remote and the app. Once I was sure everything was to my liking I put the bike back together completely. The App is as good as I have seen, it is not great. Be very careful with the device settings before thinking something is broken, such as wrong colors. Mine has 256 different color effects. I wish it had a way to design or edit effect, but unfortunately it does not. Other than effects, it does have Static colors, Effects activated by microphone on the device or the phone and a music player with 5 different effects. Though for some reason the audio seems to break. I did not allow this to lower the score because I would rather play my music through the bike and that works because the microphone picks it up and they do not own or program the app. The app also has timers. So I can tell the unit when to turn the effects on and off, so if I wanted, they would not turn on until evening and turn off by morning. I can leave the programing in as it is connected to my ignition switch, not sure how this works direct to battery, that may be part of what the manual kill switch is for.All that being said, I am happy I waited until I found this kit. My Wife says it’s the best upgrade so far.(Of course pretty lights would be.) Other than no custom effects, the only gripe is the kill switch. This should be in line somewhere that would make it more convenient to place, but that is a personal gripe. Already have people asking about it and can’t say enough good about it. I will post an edit in the future regarding how the heat affects the light strips. Thank you Suzco, great product at a great price.
