I was a bit skeptical about how this replacement would work, but was pleasantly surprised that it was smoother and locked better than the original. I have custom shades from a more reputable company but the cord locks on two of the shades started to fail only a couple of years after installation. I did some research and found these locks that fit the dimensions of my existing cord locks perfectly. In general, the cord locks themselves were easy to install. It was a bit tricky but that was because of the design of the shades, not the cord locks. Getting the cord strings back to even was also a bit tricky but overall the full process took less than 30 mins once I figured out what needed to be done. The motion and locking are smooth and work well. I do not need to extend the cord pull too far out to the side to get them to lock which is great.
